About Us

My name is Vicky Mercer and I am the proprietor of UPPERCUT.

I have worked extensively in the hairdressing industry for over 25 years and for the past 20 years I have specialised in barbering.  I opened my first barber shop in December 2005 on Victoria Street, Stanton Hill, and extended in 2009 to add a ladies salon. In January 2014 we moved to our current larger premises on the High Street, Stanton Hill.

Our salon is smart and modern, and visitors are given a warm and inviting welcome. Since first opening, customer numbers have continued to rise. This is due to both the consistency of quality work, and word of mouth which has brought many new customers through the door.

In our barbers we offer a range of services including: traditional and modern cuts, colouring and highlights, restyles, pattern and line hair designs, beard trims, skin fades and non surgical hair replacement. We have always worked on a walk in & wait basis but now  changed this to appointments only.

Our ladies salon is accessed through a separate entrance, and also works on an appointment only basis. We offer an extensive variety of services that include: traditional and modern cuts, blowdrys and sets, colouring, hi/lowlights, balayage, ombre, colour correcting, perming & permanent straightening. We also cover weddings, proms, and special occasion styles & take-ups.

Another service we offer is ear & nose piercing.

All your beauty needs can be met by our resident beautician Danielle, who can be found in her own private beauty room on the 1st floor.  Here she offers waxing, eyebrow waxing/ tinting & eyelash tinting, nails, facials, massage & professional make up.  Appointments are required.

Also on our first floor you will find our spacious tanning room with a 225 watt 60 tube vertical sunbed & vanity area. A lot of our customers have commented on the sunbed, saying that it is one of the best in the area.

Finally, we have recently added a new service......Non surgical hair replacement. This service is carried out in one of our private treatment rooms on the first floor of the salon. Appointments are required.
